Life - An illusion

Mother earth, considered to be the most amazing creation of God, is unique from other planets in the solar system. Not because it is round or has one sun, but because it has the most beautiful thing on it. Life. Life, the supreme power that drives each and every body, be it in air, water or under the earth. Life has many facets. Beautiful and ugly both. But as compared to beautiful faces, dark and ugly aspects are more in life.

Life is nothing but an excuse for us to be alive for nothing. We suffer, we torture ourselves and others. We try to be what others want to be. We try to live life their way. We never live our real lives. Others want to see us as they want themselves to be. This way, we live for others and never for ourselves. What is the need of a life which can not be lived for us? We can not behave in the way we want to. We can not talk in a way we want to. We have to imitate and follow others. And this does not happen suddenly. This is a gradual change which starts from the childhood of a person.

Our parents start moulding us into their pots. They want us to follow their footsteps. They want us to behave in a certain manner which can please them and others. We are not allowed to cry as it will leave a bad impression on others. We are not allowed to speak our minds out as it might hurt others. We are not allowed to do things our way as we might fall onto a wrong path. What is all this? Suppression of human mind leads to making of a volcano. And when this volcano erupts, it damages everything that comes in its way. Why then should we allow a beautiful flower to be converted into a volcano?

From our childhood only, we start getting used to all the tortures of life. And when we reach adolescence, we get so used to all this that even we, ourselves become a part of all the crap. We also start guiding our children. We try to turn them into idols and superstars. We become a reflection of our parents who we used to hate when they guided us. We become a robot, machinery which has human body but computerized behavior.

After reaching a certain age, we behave in a way that can be considered as pre-planned and pre-programmed. We follow a certain routine which does not have any charm or flexibility. We do not tend to change the routine and thus the programming happens. Our brains stores all the possibilities of breaking that routine but never lets them out. We therefore, develop a tendency to never leave the path on which we are moving. The will-power to catch another road dies with time. The possibility of being our real self diminishes with time. This robotic behavior damages our tendency to discover new things and the tendency to be happy.

  1. Life gives us many a chances to prove ourselves. But we prefer to choose our addictions over our success. Addictions, such as family, friends, love etc. And this is why we start blaming our destiny for our failures. But the fact remains the same. We never had tried to succeed. We deserve the failure that came to us. We deserve it as we did not try to turn that failure into success. We aspire of being the best. The best dad, the best husband, the best employee or the best businessman. But the problem is that we do nothing apart from dreaming. Dreams are the road to success. But we never follow that road. We stay on the starting point. And that is why we do not do anything. We keep on dreaming, but we never try to convert those dreams into reality. If you go through auto-biographies of successful people, you will come to know that everything that they achieved did not come easy. They dreamt it first and then succeeded in converting those dreams into reality. They worked hard, overcame their addictions and weak points. They worked hard because they did not want to be counted in the never-ending list of ideas that never came into existence. And that became their driving force which led them to the limelight.

  2. The main reason for the tortures that we go through in our lives is that we never behave like ourselves. Yes, this is true. We never behave like ourselves. We try to imitate others. Not from a certain age-group, but we have this tendency to behave like other by birth.

When we are born, we are unaware of our surroundings. So we behave naturally, as we should do. But as the time passes, our parents, relatives and teachers start seeing us as the next Einsteins or Sachin Tendulkars. They start compelling us to behave in a certain way. In a way, they think can provide us better opportunities (Socially as well as professionally) in future. But by doing this, they are killing our natural capability of inventing and discovering the unseen. How can things be invented when we keep on working like others? If we keep on following Einstein, we can not invent anything that Einstein had not invented. If we keep on playing like Sachin, we can not do anything greater than him. So, why can not we behave like ourselves and invent something that never had been invented before? Why do we need to dress, talk, walk and behave like others even though we have far better opportunities of proving our worth? Why not then leave a child on his own and to be what he wants? Maybe this way, we can create hundreds and thousands of Einsteins and Sachin Tendulkars.
